Wednesday UPDATE

Well Ty is a Fighter. She was removed from life-support on Monday at 11:45 AM and we have been holding our breath ever since. When she was removed from the machines the doctors anticipated that she wouldn't last but a few hours.

Well Ty, you proved them wrong again.

Tyree is still with us and remains in a heavily sedated state. Her breathing is labored but she is doing it without the aid of a machine. She is resting well and is very comfortable at the hospice we brought her to last Friday. We still don't know the outcome of this whole ordeal. However, we remain full of hope and peaceful that the Lord is doing his will among us.

To say the least it is a hard road for Tyree and for the rest of us. We recognize GOD's hand in our life. Our Family is truly grateful for all of your love and support. We ask that you please continue to pray for Tyree and our family. We will keep you updated as often as possible.

Thank you for your love.

Thank you so much for taking time to post and let us know of Tyree's update. We know how very difficult this is for all of you, so to think enough to post and include us in this is very thoughtful. There are many, many people who continue to offer prayers in your family's behalf and are still very much aware of what you are going through. We continue to check your website for any new information you may feel you want to share with the rest of us. The strength and courage you display is incredible. May the Lord continue to bless and sustain you all.

Thanks for the update.

Yesterday morning (4/10), I awoke around 2 a.m. thinking about Tyree and what I experienced at the hospice on Sunday evening (4/8).

Since then, I've been writing about my own experiences.

In short, yesterday morning I was thinking about a friend's sister.

When I saw Tyree on Sunday evening, I saw many of the same mannerisms that I've seen in the face of a friend's sister.

I saw eye movements and periodic movements of Ty's mouth almost identical to what Lisa once did.

Lisa had meningitis and was given up on by the doctor's as a fifteen (15) year old. Today, she is 45.

Once considered hopeless, she now talks and has quite a life.

It's been an interesting road to watch, and Lisa started with those same small movements, progressed to making sounds, and today, she carries on conversations.

"She talks," in the words of her brother.

I know that Ty is weak and has experienced damaged, but the spirit inside Lisa also kept battling back. Today, she is very much alive, but to her Mother, many years ago, she was just as alive thirty years ago.

Well, that's just a portion of what I've been pondering and writing since I felt a distinct prompting yesterday morning.

Again, I wonder what the Lord is up to.

Your Friends,
David and Melodie Goolsby

Thanks for the update! I have been checking several times a day for any word...should have known that she'd fight to hold on to life! Maybe she's just waiting for everybody (all of us as well as her family) to really feel at peace with letting her go. Maybe she just wants a little more time with Jocelyn.

We love you Ty! You sure have been through a lot this last couple of weeks. We don't want you to give up but we are ok with your going home to Heavenly Father.

My name is Cara and I am the sister of one of Tyree's good friends in Cottonwood (Alicia Sorensen). I received this blog and information about Tyree today and have spent time reading and crying along. I have only met Tyree a couple times when I have come to visit my sister. She was always smiling and I know my sister holds her in high regard!! The last time I saw her was in January when I went to help my sister as she was having her 4th baby. Tyree and Alicia had babies about a month or so apart and would talk about what was happening with the babies and all the new, exciting things the baby girls were doing. Even though Tyree had just had her baby she still came by to visit my sister and bring goodies. I remember as she looked at my sisters baby that she got teary eyed thinking of how fast Jocelyn had grown in that month or so. She truly loved her baby!! I just want her and her family to know that she is truly loved and there are many, many people praying for her and all of you. I know she is full of kindness and smiles. She truly loved others. My sister will forever love her and I will remember the sweet spirit and comfort she brought into my sister's home. May God be with you until we meet again.

Thank you so much for taking time out of all the stress to update the rest of us. I am sure I speak for many of us, when I say we worry, but don't want to bother ya'll. My prayers are with Tyree, but also with the rest of the family.
I love you all and know that God's hand is at work here, keep up the great spirit I felt there over the weekend and give Tyree a big kiss for me!
Love always,
Cindy and Mandi Smith (and family)

Dear Johnson family and Tyree's other loved ones,

My family and I wish to express our condolences and to let you know we will keep you in our prayers. We appreciate your example of faith and charity. May the Spirit rest upon you and support you in your times of trial. I have not talked to Tyree in years, but you don't forget a person like that. She's a treasure.

Chris and Family,
I was blessed by you when Chris called me and asked if I could watch Jocelyn and Tyler over night when his mom went to phoenix to have a tooth pulled. I was so sad to give Jocelyn back to her grandma. She has such a sweet spirit and was such a joy to watch. I miss her already. I just wanted to say thank you for letting me help in any way that I could. PLease know that I am just a phone call away if you ever need help. Thank you again Jessica Fringer
